Andrea Peoples to Teach Orisa Dance at ADRSA 2020

The ADRSA is pleased announce dancer and cultural arts organizer Andrea Peoples as the Featured Dance Teacher for our 2020 Conference weekend. Wind & Fire: Honoring the Divine Feminine and Masculine in Africana Religions will be held Friday, April 17 at Xavier University in New Orleans. 

Ms. Peoples is a seasoned African, Afro Cuban, and Dunham Technique dancer and choreographer. She is honored to have studied with some of the world’s greatest master dancers and musicians. Her African studies were under the tutelage of Djeneba Sako, Moustapha Bangoura, and many others. She studied Dunham Technique under Keith Williams, Theodore Jamison and Afro Cuban dance under multiple teachers in Matanzas, Cuba as well as in the United States.  Andrea is the founder of Kreative Arts Collective, a non-profit that builds communities through culture and arts and AfroXotica™ – a night dance class.

Join us Saturday, April 18 when Ms. Peoples will teach an Orisa dance class, highlighting the divine feminine and masculine in motion. She will be accompanied by Baba Bill Summers, seasoned percussionist and Founder of Summers Multi Ethnic institute of Arts, and ensemble.
